Yazan Ammari

When I first arrived in the USA in 2015, I started working as a teaching assistant at Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy. Since my Ph.D. major was in Socciobehavioral and administrative pharmacy, I used to read a lot of books each semester about this area in particular (e.g., Pharmaceutical marketing, Biostatistics 1, Biostatistics advanced, health economy, and others). I realized then the complexity of healthcare in general in the USA and the challenges for the pharmaceutical profession in particular, Including ( Harsh regulations, less reimbursement via 3rd party payers, making more effort for less gain, denied claims in pharmacy, wholesalers restricted by PBMs unless they have specific credentials, and more). All this made me bewildering of how could the owners of these businesses survive amid all these challenges.

I started pursuing my Pharmacist license in 2017, and I worked with an ambitious pharmacist who mastered the art of survival in an independent pharmaceutical business. Together, we accomplished several accreditation including DMEPOS, Focus script, AADE, VAWD, VIPPS, URAC, and others. Doing those accreditations put me in place right where I always liked to be, which is Regulatory compliance. Although it has been a daunting challenge for me to write and review hundreds of pages of policies and procedures, Forms, compliance logs, and reading Laws and regulations pertinent to the accreditation, I also enjoyed it especially at the moments of success. And even before my arrival in the USA, It was my passion to be always involved in big projects, in 2009 I volunteered with the World Health Organization to collect data for "Medication Transparency Alliance" (META) project in Jordan and during my five months work in King Hussain Cancer Center I observed the "Joint Commission for International Accreditation (JCIA)" process.

Finally, during my work in different areas of the Pharmaceutical industry either inside the USA or outside it I have gained valuable experience and intense exposure for different accreditation processes. Nothing could make me more delighted than deploying this experience and knowledge to serve those who are in most need for it.
